What seed type should I choose?
Based on your ZIP code, your location is favorable for several types of grass seed. Please choose one that best suits you and your lawn needs. Below, we have outlined each seed variety:
Sun & Shade Mix
Sun & Shade is a grass mix bred to thrive in northern climates. The combination of fine fescue, perennial ryegrass, and Kentucky bluegrass can withstand the cold of winter and heat of summer, but will still grow a barefoot-soft lawn. The thin to medium-sized blades will establish fast and spread quickly in both the sunny and shady parts of your lawn.
Bermuda Grass is the ideal lawn for southern regions. It has thin, light-green blades that are fearlessly heat-tolerant and stand up to foot traffic and heavy play. This sun worshiping grass self-repairs but won’t do well in shade or get as dark green as other varieties.
Tall Fescue Mix
Tall Fescue is a grass mix that is ideal for transition-zone lawns. The durable grass does well in sun, shade, hot, and dry conditions. It’s not as soft as other grasses but stands up to wear and tear. Left on its own, it will grow to be a medium green, but you can feed with fertilizer to deepen its hue. The medium to thick blades will grow deep roots, the foundation for all that “tall” in Tall Fescue.
